Here is a sample question:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" width=\"500\" height=\"750\" src=\"https:\/\/numbas.mathcentre.ac.uk\/question\/43964\/energy-piab\/embed\/#?secret=3oeXTilHVY\" data-secret=\"3oeXTilHVY\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Nick (<a href=\"mailto:nick.walker@newcastle.ac.uk\">nick.walker@newcastle.ac.uk<\/a>) is willing to share and keen to hear from any spectroscopist interested in using these questions in their own teaching. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spectroscopy involves study of the interaction between light\nand matter. The topic underpins the study of photochemical processes (chemical reactions\ninduced, enhanced or inhibited by light) and is an important foundation stone\nof physical chemistry. Nick\u2019s students use the Beer-Lambert law and other\nimportant relationships to develop important numerical skills. They learn about\nthe size, length and energy scales that are relevant when considering the\nproperties of individual atoms and molecules. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Numbas is extensively used to support the teaching of\nmathematical skills to chemists here at Newcastle. The program offers the\nflexibility required to ensure the high level of contextualisation that\nChemistry students expect.
