That means that you can upload Numbas exams to Blackboard and it will save students&#8217; grades into the Grade Center, just like any other assignment. Earlier versions claimed to support SCORM, but the implementation was quite broken.<\/p>\n<p>In this post I&#8217;ll walk you through the process of putting a Numbas exam on Blackboard.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In the command line, compile your exam with the <code>-s<\/code> and <code>-z<\/code> switches to include the necessary SCORM files and to package everything into a .zip:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard21.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-462\" title=\"blackboard2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard21.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"351\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This will produce a file called <code>example.zip<\/code> in your <code>output<\/code> directory.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard31.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-463\" title=\"blackboard3\" src=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard31.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"445\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now go to your course on Blackboard.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-464\" title=\"blackboard4\" src=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"505\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Make sure Edit Mode is turned <strong>ON<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-465\" title=\"blackboard5\" src=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"505\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Click on the <em>Build Content<\/em>\u00a0menu, then on <em>Content Package (SCORM)<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-466\" title=\"blackboard6\" src=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"505\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the next screen, click on <em>Browse My Computer<\/em>, select the .zip file you created earlier, then click on <em>Submit<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-467\" title=\"blackboard7\" src=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"505\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the screen after that, change the <em>Title<\/em>\u00a0field to your exam&#8217;s name.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard9.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-470\" title=\"blackboard9\" src=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard9.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"504\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Make sure the field <em>Make SCORM available<\/em>\u00a0says &#8220;Yes&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard101.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-472\" title=\"blackboard10\" src=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard101.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"504\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on <em>Submit<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard111.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-474\" title=\"blackboard11\" src=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard111.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"504\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Your exam is now ready to run!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard12.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-475\" title=\"blackboard12\" src=\"http:\/\/www.numbas.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/blackboard12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"504\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s as easy as that.
