Welcome to Numbas.
We have designed this tool to be as easy to use as possible, and its open license means that you can adapt it to almost any type of testing.
If this is your first experience of Numbas, and you are interested in getting a flavour of what it can do, our mathcentre editor has a bank of over 5,000 questions that are free to use or modify. This publicly-accessible installation of the Numbas editor is available at numbas.mathcentre.ac.uk.
Collect the questions you find into a custom test, or add your own. Numbas tests can be taken over the web, completed using a virtual learning environment such as Blackboard or Moodle, or distributed on a DVD or USB key.
Once you’ve found your feet using the mathcentre editor, you can find information on how to improve your tests on our documentation. This contains tips on how to set up questions, add media and interactive features, and how to collaborate with colleagues.
